What is ABS Printing with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene?
ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) is another common thermoplastic. It is a common fixture in 3D printing and is very popular in the field of injection molding. The applications of ABS in the real world include toys (such as Lego blocks), electronic product shells, auto parts, household appliances, etc.
ABS has certain toughness and impact resistance, its mechanical properties are better than PLA, and it is lighter and more durable. However, the compromise is that it is more difficult to print and usually requires a higher temperature to print effectively. This material can deflect heat more effectively than PLA, but its total heat resistance is absolutely unknown. For 3D printer operators, please note that ABS will produce strong odor during the manufacturing process.
